Inspiring the Next Generation Through the Magic of Dance

Each year, Ballet Indiana proudly welcomes hundreds of local elementary students to experience the wonder of The Nutcracker through our free School Show Performance at the historic Victory Theatre. Created especially for young audiences, this one-hour field trip offers students a rare opportunity to see a live, professional-quality ballet featuring local youth dancers, adult actors, and — uniquely — a live orchestra. Our goal is simple: Expose young people in the Tri-State area to the performing arts and spark a lifelong love of creativity, movement, and imagination. |

A Field Trip They’ll Never Forge
During the School Show, students watch some of their peers — dancers ages 3 to 18 from studios across the tri-state — bring Tchaikovsky’s beloved holiday story to life. From swirling Snowflakes to marching Soldiers and dazzling characters from the Kingdom of Sweets, this performance is designed to captivate young audiences and make the arts feel accessible and exciting.
This experience also empowers our dancers. Performing for their classmates and community gives them confidence, pride, and a deeper connection to the art form they love.

As a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Ballet Indiana believes that every child deserves access to the arts.
Our School Show is made possible through community support, sponsorships, grants, and the dedication of our volunteer families. By providing this performance at no cost, we ensure that arts education is not limited by budget or location — every child can be part of the magic.
